Will you accept the challenge?
Your challenge this term is to design a poster that tells people why it is so important to come to school every day and arrive on time. This is a home challenge with a difference, every person that designs a poster at home and brings it to school will receive a prize but once you have handed in your poster it will be put in to a competition. One person’s poster will then be judged as overall winner and will receive a mystery prize! The winning poster will then be printed and put up around Shepton Mallet in shop windows and sent out to all families as a flyer highlighting the importance of regular attendance at school. Your grownups at home can help you put your poster together.
You have 2 weeks to complete the challenge. When you bring your poster in to school you will be able to share it with the whole class. The final date for bringing in your work is Friday 31st March.
To help you out, below are some of the things you said in your classes about why it is important to come to school every day. You might want to use some of them to help you make your posters.
You need to come to school everyday to learn how :
To read and write
To make friends
To count and add up
To tidy up
To find out new things
To find out how much things cost
To get a good job
To be nice and friendly to people
To say your alphabet
To say what is happening in the world
To play fairly
To share with other people
To solve problems
To enjoy playing with friends
After all if you don’t come you will be “missing all the fun!”
