We are Bilby Class and we are in Reception. We have lots of adults who help us to learn our class; we have our teachers Mrs Hewitt and Mrs Seaman and our key workers Mrs Hamblin and Ms Mitchell. Sometimes Mrs Bratton and Mrs Fellows come in and help us with our learning as well. All the grownups help us to learn during special group work time and play and learn with us when we are in charge our own learning.
We love finding things out for ourselves and often help the grownups decided on and plan the learning we do in our class. We are getting really good at playing together; we share, listen and help each other making sure our class is a happy and friendly place to be.
We have learned lot since we started school in September…
In the Autumn Term…
We found out all about Farms; the animals that live there, the jobs that the farmer does and the machines he uses to help.
We learned all about Festivals including Guy Fawkes Night, our very own Shepton Mallet Carnival and of course the story of the first Christmas.
In the Spring Term…
We found out all about Cold. We learned all about the animals that live in cold places like polar bears and penguins and the best clothes to keep warm in cold weather.
We also found out all about Growing Plants. We learned what plants need to grow and even grew our own broad beans in class. We also read lots of tradition tales and wrote our own version of Jack and the Bean Stalk.
At the moment we are learning all about Hot weather and places, in particular Australia. We will be learning about the animals that live there and what makes them special.
To finish the year off we will be learning all about Pirates, oh arrgh me hearties…
